"Our average bill for the
first year heating and cooling was $45.43. The small town
that we buy our electricity from has even higher rates than we
could get direct from the local major utility... If we ever have
to build another house it will definitely be of the same
construction."

"Our home of 3,300 square feet
is not difficult to either heat or deep cool - and we have neither
a 'supplemental heat source' nor an air conditional...our home
contains FIVE gas appliances (furnace, two water heaters, a dryer
and a range), our average has bill your-round is $57.00/mo."

"As a present to ourselves we
enclosed the garage and sat back and awaited the fated electric
bills. Guess what! No change. We compared
electric bills for 4 months (the old home versus the new) and we
are currently saving an average of $70.00 - $75.00 per month on
our electric bills."

"...we built a PolySteel (foam
form) gymnasium that has a cubic content equivalent to a 2,200
S.F. home. We put a radiant floor heating system powered by
a 40-gallon water heater. We also included in our design a
Heat Recovery Ventilator.
Winter descended with a bang.
Temperatures |
|
dropped to 20 below with successive nights of
10 below. We dropped by to see how the gym was doing. The room was a
comfortable 60 degrees, the way the kids like it when they're jumping around in
basketball, but the flue pipe on this new style (totally enclosed combustion
chamber) water heater was cold... I disassembled the combustion chamber and
found the flame out-the burner was even rusty...by the time we restored the
heat, at least six days had passed since the heat was on. The temperature
in the gym had dropped only six degrees! Can you imagine living in a
conventionally built house for 6 days of subzero weather with no heat? If
I had any doubts about the benefits of the American PolySteel forms before, I
sure don't now!"

"....Our home is
so soundproof, we chose to install an intercom system. The concrete
and Styrofoam allows the teenagers to play their loud music in the
comfort of their rooms without disturbing others. So too, the young
children can sleep in their rooms undisturbed while noisier
activities are happening in other
parts of the house. The built-in sound barrier
works in reverse as well. The unwelcome noises from outside are shut out. In
fact, if I do not have a window open, I cannot hear the lawnmower, the dog
barking, or the children teasing each other. After a hectic day out there in the
real world it is wonderful to come home to true peace and quiet.
